A 31-year old technophile committed to pushing hardware and tech growth to better Africa by connecting people in tech and innovation.
A few ways she has achieved this so far is by starting KATO in 2014, a company which focuses on product development to solve real world problems. The company works with local developers and engineers to create innovative tech solutions for consumers, businesses and Government.
Robyn has also founded and run some of the most influential tech events and communities in South Africa which create exposure to and connect people who are pushing the boundaries of tech, as well as bridging the class and gender gap. These include #TechTalkCPT, Arduino Cape Town, Modern Alchemists and Women in Tech Cape Town.
Passionate about sharing her knowledge, Robyn has spoken at events all over the world including France, Germany, Holland, North America, the United Kingdom and Portugal. She has been invited to be a guest lecturer at MIT and to attend the World Maker Faire in New York.
Robyn has also been listed as one of Mail&Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans and granted a Shuttleworth Flash Grant. Last year she was also an Inspiring Fifty nominee and was nominated for Best Female Tech Entrepreneur for PriceCheck’s Tech Awards.
In 2018 Robyn became chairperson for Women in Tech South Africa
