Carl Wazen is co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Yoco, a South African-based point of sale payments provider that builds tools and services to help small businesses accept card payments and manage their day to day activities. At Yoco he leads the commercial areas and fundraising.
Carl was born in London in 1985 to Lebanese parents and spent his childhood between London and Beirut. He graduated from the American University of Beirut with a business degree at only 19. He went on to work for Citigroup investment bank in Dubai. After which he moved to Delta Partners, a telecoms and technology-focused investment and advisory company; which he helped grow from a team of 10 to a global consulting and investment firm of 200+ professionals with six offices globally. While on a project in South Africa, he met and worked with future Yoco co-founder Katlego Maphai. A few years later they decided to leave their jobs and start Yoco.
